Town House, Scarborough

A selection of photographs from a listed property in Scarborough. The original timber windows were sanded and wood preserver applied – rotten timber was replaced. Frosted glazing was installed on the lower half of the bathroom window. Before refurbishment, the bathroom window rattled and allowed warm air to escape – once the window had been refurbished the bathroom was noticeably warmer and outside noise reduced, the window sashes were also easier to slide open. We also painted the interior and exterior with white eggshell paint.

The casement window did not fit correctly and this was easily resolved – the addition of a draught excluder helped to reduce noise and keep the landing area warmer.
